October Title Update:

Title Reading:

We are very busy working to improve our fluency, accuracy, and comprehension. In class we are  using the Daily Five CAFE:  Listen to Reading, Read to someone, Read to yourself, Word Work, and Work with teacher.  We are also working on specific comprehension skills such as cause and effect, inferences, comparison, main idea and more.  Once a week the student work on progress monitoring, so they can see the improvements that they are making in their reading along with ways to continue to grow.

Title Math:

Third grade has just finished working on place value and is moving onto addition and subtraction of numbers.  Right now we have been working with place value mats and number bonding.  Our new Singapore Math program has been a great addition to our curriculum. Awesome Job Third grade.

Fourth grade has been reviewing multiplication facts and is now working on factoring, multiples of numbers, GCF and LCM.  A great way to help your child is a 5-10 minutes of multiplication practice at home, in the car, or when ever you have a few extra minutes.  Keep up the great work Fourth Graders.

Fifth grade has been working extremely hard.  They are reviewing multiplication facts and just finished factoring, multiples of numbers, prime factorization, GCF, and GCM.  They are currently working on multiplication and division of numbers by 10's 100's and 1000's.
